NORTHERN PROVINCE
The Northern Province was established by Law No. 29/2005 of 31 December 2005, which instituted the administrative structures of the Republic of Rwanda. It brought together the former Ruhengeri and Byumba provinces, as well as the northern part of the former Kigali Ngali Province.
The Northern Province is composed of five districts: Burera, Gakenke, Gicumbi, Musanze, and Rulindo. It comprises 89 sectors, 414 cells, and 2,740 villages.
